Munich start-up integrates continuously variable transmission into its system architecture

BLOKS. and NuVinci Cycling enter into a partnership

BLOKS. integrates electronic components in the e-bike, combining them to create a flexibly adjustable kit. By integrating the NuVinci Harmony H|Sync in these kits, bicycle manufacturers can now use the electronically activated transmission by Fallbrook in the design of their e-bikes. Moreover, the shifting system by NuVinci Cycling can now be set and controlled by means of the BLOKS. control units meaning that, via the BLOKS. remote, the rider can select between manual and automatic shifting during the ride. Julian Laudenbacher moves from Sigma Sport to BLOKS.

Julian Laudenbacher has been reinforcing the BLOKS. start-up as a Project Manager since 1 April. Before joining the company, the industrial engineer spent almost four years as a product manager for bicycle computers at Sigma Sport. “I am delighted, at BLOKS., to be afforded the opportunity to work on components and modern approaches to system integration which open up completely new markets to the e-bike market,” explains the 33-year-old cyclist. Thomas Hummel assumes the position of Head of Sales at BLOKS.

BLOKS. has now increased its team at its two locations in Munich and Hong Kong to over 30 employees. A further specialist from the field of e-bikes has been reinforcing the Munich start-up since 1 June: Thomas Hummel. “Thomas is the perfect appointment as Head of Sales for us. Norman Schwarze has been reinforcing the BLOKS. start-up as a Sales Engineer since 1 May. Before joining the company, the industrial engineer worked as a service engineer for pedelec drive systems at Panasonic. As an e-bike specialist, Norman is also a member of various committees such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the Zweirad-Industrie-Verband (ZIV) and the Comité Européen de Normalisation (CEN). Pasi Peltola moves from Polar to Munich start-up

BLOKS. also expands its team in Hong Kong. At BLOKS. Hong Kong, he is assuming the role of project manager, and will serve mainly as a single point of contact between the development and production departments. In this position, he is responsible for ensuring that production gets off to a smooth start and for the quality of the intelligent e-bike components at BLOKS.
